BIG TREES, SEA LIONS, AND A LIGHTHOUSE

I’ve always heard about the beauty of northern CA, and as we’ve made up our way north I totally see it!  We haven’t quite gone north enough for the big redwoods, but during our stay in Santa Cruz, we visited Henry Cowell Redwood State Park. Wow!  These trees are spectacular!

We also took a day to explore Santa Cruz. We started at the Lighthouse point, is it not beautiful?

Then we went to check out the wharf. I loved it! On one side this was our view, calm and peaceful, with sailboats cruising along.

On the other side - party town!  You can see the boardwalk in the distance.

We also heard a strange barking… as we approached the edge, this is what we found.

A little community of sea lions just hanging out!  We had so much fun just watching them.

After that we went to hang out at the boardwalk, so much to do in Santa Cruz, we tried to squeeze as much as we could, but we’ll definitely have to come back!

Our last day in the area, we just had to fit in another beach day, and the weather was perfect, so we went to Natural Bridges State Beach for the afternoon. Perfect ending to our visit in this area.
